work activity for billing purposes.
Using TimeTracker is easy, and you’ll appreciate features designed to make keeping
track of what you worked on and then billing your customers easier. For Example,
the Activity Log tracking feature helps you with the “What was I working on last
Monday afternoon? I forgot to write it down” problem. TimeTracker can automatically
record what application you were working on throughout the day to help you remember
what you worked on and how long you worked on it.
TimeTracker’s home page lets you add new work activities quickly, or see at a glance
your tracked activities, filtered by a variety of categories.
TimeTracker’s Auto Rounding feature makes it easy to quickly begin tracking your
activity by providing options to automatically begin and end your activity on 5,
6, 10, 12, 15 or 30 minute increments. TimeTracker can even automatically extend
your activity timespan and periodically prompt you if you’re still working on an
activity.
TimeTracker allows you to setup Customers who you perform work for, and then create
different Projects to associate your work with. You can even break down projects
into Sub-Projects for finer detail views into how much time is spent on different
segments of a project. You can also create Classes of activities such as Planning,
Implementation or Support and assign a class to work activities to analyze how much
time you spend on different types of activity across projects.
With TimeTracker, you create different Billing Rate schedules that get assigned
to each activity. You can assign an internal cost to activity you do for you or
your own company, or assign the rates you charge your customers to each activity
to calculate costs for billing purposes.
Then, after you’ve added your tracked activities into TimeTracker, billing your
customers is easy with the RTF Report output feature which produces a formatted
report, with fees automatically calculated for you. The report is created in "Rich
Text Format", a document format that allows you to easily edit and reformat the
report in word processing applications such as Microsoft Word.
